I would also feel a lot less like his continued role was pandering to the fans if he actually switched bodies once in a while, like, oh, everybody else.

I enjoyed 6.15! Well, mostly it was extremely funny (I am generally warm to meta-humor) but I did have a little bit of a cringe at the final scene. Raphael comes back! In a female body! Awesome, but she was also squaring off against Castiel and Balthashazar and Sam and Dean in a parking lot briefly and I was also a little bit UH GUYS seeing the four slashable white dudes vs black female villian put on screen like that.

No, you don't understand- it's only female bodies which are disposable!

I vary on meta-humor. /o\ Though a lot of that variance has to do with whether or not I am watching the episode with my parents.

I was also a little bit UH GUYS seeing the four slashable white dudes vs black female villian put on screen like that.
))))): *all the sad faces*

Well, I'm not just referring to Ruby but also Lucifer, Michael, Meg, Alistair, Raphael too now - all of whom have changed bodies at some point, frequently after having their old one destroyed (which has happened to Castiel twice). On top of the dude favoritism it's also just inconsistent with the way all the other angels and demons are handled. Even when Anna comes back in the same body she has a reason to (nostalgia/human attachment) and there's an explanation given in the show of how/why she did this unusual thing.

Yeah I imagine that would definitely be a little uncomfortable. D:

Aw, your sadfaces make me sad. :/ I don't think the character allegiances are really that simple, but I was a little bit UM that apparently no one on production noticed what that particular scene looked like.
