THE APOCALYPSE: In a shocking twist, Barack Obama (Samuel L. Jackson) is revealed to be Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) gay lovechild. The angel Castiel (MIsha Collins) then takes the baby Obama back in time- in a shocking sacrifice- so that Obama can grow up and become president.  The grown up President Obama will be forced to face his destiny and broker peace between the Michael and Lucifer camps.

With Rahm Emmanuel (Jeremy Piven) as God's vessel.

I've always loved Sam, personally. But the last few episodes have made me ridiculously happy because now everyone else is realizing what a fantastic character he is.

Eek! Duo! I was just thinking last night, 'I will never have any reason to use this, but I love him so much! *___*' And now I have a reason.

Duo was great, and I really loved Gundam Wing. But I was pretty young when I watched it, so I think a lot of stuff ended up going over my head.

I'm still not reading :P I know I'll enjoy the show even if every plot twist is laid out for me in advance - hell, I knew several major ones going into my initial watch last year - but I'll play spoiler-phobe if I can :P

I think what I love best about Sam in the last few episodes is this return to this basically good guy in season one, who loves his brother and his family almost more than (maybe more than) anything else. I'm not saying he was a bad guy in seasons two, three, or even four, but seasons two and three were so dominated by fear and four was... four. It's all of the empathy and compassion he had before the understanding of Azazel's thread and then Dean's deal started to really change him, but it's tempered by this wonderful maturity and actually, honest-to-god, character growth. It's not negating anything that's happened, but he's back to the roots of how Sam was first written, only as an adult.

I swear, I love Dean, but he's never ever going to be allowed the same character arc Sam has gotten and that's really to the character's detriment.
