(I got an iTouch for my birthday! It's addictive! I have an addictive personality! Hence the fandoming. D: )
I have a deep and abiding fear that my incest shipping ways will become general knowledge. D: It wasn't even until this year that I would admit to being in fandom to anyone who wasn't my brother (who dragged me into fandom to begin with).
That is SO WEIRD that of all the insane amounts of fic out there, she picks one written by someone you know. I know the reason was because this fic is about the Odyssey. But still, what an utterly strange coincidence.
See! This is why you should've been less judgemental about SPN. :P I could have picked your brain about this. I really loved the Odyssey when I read it for class, and I kept thinking that it fit so well with Supernatural that I had to figure out a way to incorporate the two. One of my favorite things about fandom is the way you can put different texts together and make them talk to each other, because all of fandom is basically experimentation with the nature of stories and storytelling.
one of my profs said once, that the Odyssey is one of those stories you never really read for the first time because you've sort of absorbed it, but at the same time every time you read it is like discovering it for the first time, because it is not the way "everyone" knows it goes.
Mmmm. I really like that.
No chocolate chips? D: How strange! How do they make chocolate chip cookies then? But ruins sound amazing. I love ruins. What's at the National Museum that makes it so awesome? I'm glad you're having a great time though. :D And I can't wait to see you in September.
