First things first, in the immortal battle between fandom and LJ, our cruel reptilian overlords have now included a "repost to twitter or facebook" option for all our comments. Not cool LJ!

So I'm signal boosting a work around to that problem: HERE BBs HERE. Thanks to

cantarina1 and

sigrundora for the heads up.

The work around has worked in taking off the facebook and twitter boxes at the bottom of my comment. But I'm still having issues where I'm prompted to post a comment from my facebook account. Such as here. And sometimes I'm not, such as here. Whether or not the facebook prompting appears seems to vary journal by journal. Anyone know what's up?

In good news, two things:

1) I bought tickets for a soccer game! US vs. Poland on October 9th. Omg you guys I am so excited. I'm also broke, so, you know. That's good life choices for you. BUT OMG I WILL GET TO SEE SOME OF MY BBs PLAY IN REAL LIFE. OMG. And I got pretty good seats too despite picking the second cheapest option. Probably because I bought tickets the day after they went on sale. I'm in the ninth row in section 103.

2) My dad will probably-most likely-keep your fingers crossed for me, come to Chicago the weekend before Thanksgiving for work. Which means I will get to see him! And probably mooch dinner off of him. But mostly I am excited about getting to see someone in my family that close to the holidays.

3) One of my college friends sent me sugar cookies. :D YAY!

Now, because it did promise a cycle of never ending icon squee, have the icon meme. Again:

Um. There is actually a very long-winded explanation of this icon, which involves my and familiar's elaborate, obnoxious, and inside jokey soccer RPF universe. But, basically, the Spain NT is a giant, dysfunctional family, who all live at Villa's Villa when it's not club season. David Villa (the one being carried) and Xabi Alonso (the one being carried) are the dad and mom of this family, respectively. But they're platonic OTP. And basically, this is just a really adorable icon on its own (full picture here). But it's even more adorable with the background.

Also, I like it because Xabi plays for Real Madrid and Villa now plays for Barcelona, two clubs which are archrivals on a level the Yankees and Red Sox can only dream about, so it's nice from that perspective too.

I just uploaded this icon the other day and haven't had the chance to use it much. It's technically from the movie 300, but I think it works well as a stockish type icon as well. It's just cool to look at, and is a good icon for my mild ancient Greek obsession. Which has waned since its height in third grade, but will always remain with me. ♥ The alt-text is from a famous, though anecdotal, quip one of the Spartans, Dienekes, made when the Persians warned that they would loose enough arrows the block out the sky:

"Good. Then we will fight in the shade."

Badass.

This icon is just fun. Narwhales are like magical creatures EXCEPT THEY ACTUALLY EXIST, and they're my third favorite animal after tigers and coyotes. So it's a pretty, silly icon that's good to use for silly, happy occasions.

This icon is- shockingly- yet another inside joke with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. We were making fun of/complaining about that ridiculous Lady Antebellum song Need You Now one night, and in particular the lyrics: It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now. So then, "It's [insert time] and I'm a little drunk and I need you now" became something we would send the other when they weren't online. And this icon reminded me of that, so I use it when I'm stalking familiar's posts/comments when she's off having a life gawsh, and, once school starts back up, it will probably be my official drunk icon too.

RPATTZ. I have a deep and inexplicable fondness for the guy. He just seems like such a hapless stoner goofball. His interviews are hilarious and his life is kind of like one giant FML. His girlfriend likes her cat more than him, tween girls ask him to bite them, he got bitten by a lion while filming, etc.

I really love this icon. I love the position of John and I love the coloring. It's very somber, and dramatic in an understated way. (I am aware that doesn't actually make sense.) And I'm a big fan of young!John in general, and not just because Matt Cohen is gorgeous. And I loved it when Michael possessed him; that was a fantastically intense scene. So. I really like this icon for those reasons.

This is one of the few icons I've never rotated out. I just love the cropping and the thick clunky glasses and the expression on the girl's face. It's a very pretty and calm icon, and she looks like she's daydreaming. I imagine it's about gay porn. ♥

Also, she kind of reminds me of Velma from Scooby Doo.

I think I found this at a Christian icon community. I'm not sure why I was there, but I found this and it's just... really pretty. (Can you see the pattern in why I pick icons?) It's a good icon to use for Christmas/when discussing religion. And, without going into my own complicated religious beliefs, it just makes me feel calm and spiritual. (Ugh, I hate the word spiritual so much.)
