Oh my god.
So I thought my final written exam for French was tomorrow at 1:30. I just went back to check the e-mail for the time.
The final written exam was on Monday.
I fly out on Thursday.
I don't know what to do.
ETA: I spoke to my parents on the phone about it. And they both advised me to email my professor and my advisor, which I am. And said it's not the end of the world because it's an elective class, so even if I end up failing, it won't put me in danger of graduating or not finishing my major or anything like that. But I just remembered my acceptance into study abroad was contingent upon retaining an acceptable academic GPA. If I fail, I won't have that and I'll probably be kicked out of the study abroad program. I am going to start hyperventilating again.

Date: 2011-06-08 09:44 am (UTC)As a professor? I would be understanding, and have been in the past, with students who have made basic human (*human*) errors. I have my fingers crossed for you. I sincerely hope my counterparts over there are as reasonable. It *is* an issue; the fear is that you may have a contact within the course who emailed you the exam, etc. That's the concern, so the main thing is to be totally, utterly upfront about anything that may have impacted on you. Don't hold back with anything that might help your request, including stress that might have impacted upon your recollection of dates. I know, I know, what rubbish, but the thing is, usually as a professor you're looking for a way to give a student a break. Stress is the cure all.
The very best of luck, my dear.

Date: 2011-06-08 02:49 pm (UTC)Remember that no one wants you to fail, no one wants you to be disqualified from the study abroad program. Like the actual professors have said, most of them really want to help you, so be upfront, explain the circumstances, and odds are pretty good you'll be okay.
As an option to potentially give to your prof, I've written exams out-of-province before (taking a distance class). We co-ordinated it through the local university and I wrote at their test and exam centre, instead of flying five hours just to write a test. I can't imagine similar arrangements don't exist in the US.
