Life is good. I'm in Wisconsin visiting [livejournal.com profile] animus_wyrmis with [livejournal.com profile] zempasuchil and [livejournal.com profile] gold_bluepoint. There was, of course, a Carry on my Wayward Son singalong on the roadtrip up. 8) Midterms went super well; I can't believe it's already seventh week. And Supernatural and soccer are delighting me.

ETA: And I just found Balkan Folklore hiding under the anthro section. ;_;

Four quick things:

1) I've been working out every day since Tuesday! A friend and I went jogging then swimming in the lake Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Thursday and Friday I worked out in the gym in my building for a bit. And then Saturday and today [livejournal.com profile] zempasuchil and I hit the university gym for an hour each day. Awwww yeah. 8)

2) I am going to Madison next weekend to visit [livejournal.com profile] animus_wyrmis at her brand new grown up apartment!

3) I made this!

4) What mix should I work on next:

What the hell, self? I just realized I wrote the word "Marxian" instead of "Marxist" in my essay. How one presents a Marxian critique, I don't really know. But I assume it has to do with communist Martians.

Possibly this is a sign I've been up too long. But I have hammered out two rough drafts today! Yay! That means I have to pretty those two up, study for my only actual test, and write the last and longest of the essays. The fourth essay has already been turned in, and I aced my presentation on Tuesday. :D

So I may survive finals after all! Even though my laptop has broken. Again.

This broken laptop thing is swiftly becoming a finals tradition.

But I shall just camp out in the study lounge and use the computers there. Oh yes, I will.

I woke up yesterday morning, saw that it was raining pretty hard, muttered, "Why does God hate me?" and then rolled over and fell back asleep for a few hours.

I'm not sure why that was my reaction, but then, you know, my laptop, so maybe there was something to my question after all.

My working theory is that s/he/it is just jealous of my pretty, pretty hair.

The Art Festival what I've been helping to put together since January went spectacularly. I feel like I mentioned this in my drunk post. I feel like it bears repeating. Why are they putting me in charge of it next year?

***

I head home Saturday. I WILL BE DONE WITH MY FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE HOLY CRAP. I'm taking the train home though, so that's exciting. 50 hour cross country train trip! EEEE! I will resemble a smelly hobo by the end, no doubt.

I was going to linkspam with stuff I've been using to distract myself from finals with, but I'm too tired/lazy. So have my love instead.  ♥ ♥ ♥

[livejournal.com profile] gold_bluepoint , [livejournal.com profile] zempasuchil  if either of you see this, we should meet up on Thursday or Friday (or whenever you have time) and watch Supernatural or just drink tea or something together. Y/Y? I hope you're both surviving finals well.

ETA: I just realized my professor has the due date for the essay as June 7, 2006. Ah, well. A bit late, then? Damn.

omg.

I am back.

The Grand Canyon was amazing. I had a fantastic time. For five college students on a trip cross country and back again, I am kind of shocked that a) we all still like each other and b) nothing horrible happened.

I'm also exhausted. And I'll write up a longer post full of fascinating details later that will be full of Oklahoma snowstorms! Awkward vegetarianism! Cuddling! Campfire singalongs!, but right now I'm just being lazy and sorting through the inboxes of my various e-mails.

I have so much stuff I need to do. I have mod stuff and comments to reply to and books to buy and applications to fill out and a friend to call about a refrigerator and a schedule to figure out and a new episode of Supernatural to track down and watch.

But I'm back and I'm in my bed, and it was a great trip, but it's also nice to be somewhere that approximates home.

I hope you all had a wonderful week. I feel like I've been gone forever.

Survived finals! Which means I am now two-thirds of the way through my first year of college. Amazing!

It also means I'm officially on hiatus. I'm off to the Grand Canyon, and I should be back sometime the night of Saturday, the 27th.

I love you and I'll miss you all.

Be good.
