Quite aside from the fact that science fiction AUs are among my favourites, I LOVE the concept you've pitched and that it's got so much depth and will deal with some actual, serious issues. I've got a great post on writing PTSD tabbed and bookmarked, if you'd like the resource if/when (but it's definitely going to be when either way, right?) with this idea \o/
